Project Plan

This is a plan of what I hope to achieve over the course of my Media Studies lessons:

Sunday 17 October 2010

Group Roles

Within our group, we all need to take on different roles in the process of making our teaser. As we were all interested in doing most of the roles, we agreed that some can rotate. For the next period, these are our roles:
Frankie-Rose (Me): Liason - Securing actors, creating contact list
Ama : Sound design - Looking for possible music
Sonia: Locations - Look into possible locations and ask permission for their use.

Presentation Feedback

When we presented to our proposal to a year twelve media class, each student was given a post-it note to give us feedback. Here is my groups feedback:

Animatic

Using the storyboard of our teaser trailer, we created an Animatic. This involved scanning the various sketches and putting them together in Windows Movie Maker. This also allowed us to experiment with camera angles. Here is our animatic and the shot list we used to make it:

Shot List

When we thought about the shots we wanted to use, we were inspired by the following clips and trailers:

My Teaser Proposal

Once my group and I had established what we wanted our film to be about, we presented our research and idea to our class. Here is the presentation we used, notes on our slides and a video of us presenting. Our working title is TRUTH OR DARE?:

My Moodboard

I used the website Animoto to create a video moodboard of some images and music that could be used as inspiration for my teaser:

My Teaser Trailer - Genre Convention

My group and I have decided that we wnat to create a horror/psycological thriller. This is an idea for our synopsis:

"Six friends, and one night out they will never forget. When a game of spin the bottle plummets into a desperate struggle for survival, they don’t have long to discover who isn’t playing by the rules."

When then thought about key question that we want to raise in our trailer. These are:

-How well do the protagonists know each other?

-What is happening?

-Who is responsible for what is happening?

-Are they all innocent?

-Is it supernatural or natural phenominum?

I then started to think about the generic and technical of my genre and how they are used in both the films and in teaser trailers:
